Today is my 9th month here in New Zealand and I must leave before my first visa expiry or face deportation.
“There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers…10 He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain! And God granted him his request.”
– 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 –
Jabez’s prayer is God’s word before I attempted to apply for New Zealand’s Silver Fern Visa. With His confirmation, I applied in getting one out of only 300 available slots around the world. (Even with the odds that my internet speed at home can’t beat those living in Singapore, US and etc.) When I finally received the letter from NZ Immigration that I succeeded and now on the next step (which is to submit my evidence), I asked another confirmation from God if it’s truly his will. He said;
“Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires”
– Psalm 37:3-6 –
It took me 3 months to complete my requirements and during those period I hold on to these words and believed in Him. I experienced how the Lord help and guide me in each stage. When I started doubting myself, God made me remember that He is in control and that I only need to cooperate and depend on Him.
So after a week of submitting my evidence, my visa was finally granted. YEY 🙂
To be honest, even if I already got my visa and ticket to NZ, doubts, fears and worries still came to mind. I remember one night when I couldn’t free myself of these, I plead to God to give me His words that I can use as a sword in this mind battle. In that night, He gave me:
12 additional go signal confirmations and promises;
11 more came days after and;
19 swords for my worries and fears
Amazing isn’t? Oh! if only I can detail all in this post. 🙂
But to cut it short, I had peace when I left the Philippines last July 27 2019. And as I mentioned in the title above, I should leave NZ now after 9 months but NO. 🙂
With God’s grace, I’m currently employed by my amazing company who sponsored me for another work visa. Enabling me to stay longer here for more years. God is good right? 🙂
So today, I’m joyful and very grateful to all that Jesus has done in my life. I want to praise and glorify Him for my ongoing journey here in NZ. This include a more intimate/closer relationship with Jesus, support from my family back in PH, newfound family (CCF and flatmates), Dgroup, friends, awesome work, privilege to worship God through exalt/music ministry, first car, experience 4 season in a year, daily provision,protection, good health and many more. It is all the Lord’s doing. ALL HIS.Thank you po God, Love you so much. 🙂
And as for you who is reading this blog now, my prayer is that you will know God the way I do. I attest to you that He is personal and loving God. But you know what, on top of all these overflow of blessings, the most important gift I received is actually Jesus himself. Through Jesus , my sins are now forgiven and ahead of me is eternal life with Him. I don’t deserve all these but it just only show that He is gracious. The truth is, God wants you to receive this gift too and you can have it by believing in Jesus and accepting Him in your life.
If you have accepted Jesus, I praise God and I pray that you continue to persevere in faith and grow in Christ-likeness until the Lord’s return. If you haven’t, then take the first opportunity you have now and pray in faith this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned against you. I thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Today, I put my trust in you as my Lord and Savior and I accept your free gift of salvation. I now believe in you and surrender my life to you. From this day on, I will follow you. Amen.
May God bless you and keep you always.
